Beyond The Gates

Read Matthew 7:13-14

We can know the correct language, intellectually believe the right doctrine, obeyed the rules but still not be in the right standing with God.

One of the greatest dangers in life is self-deception. Self-deception involves a combination of a conscious motivational false belief and a contradictory unconscious fundamental belief. In Matthew 7:13-14, Jesus addresses those who had fooled themselves into believing they were righteous and others were sinful.

The gate you choose has everything to do with the experiences you have.

  • Beyond the wide gate is a broad way many are discovering; however, destruction is at that way's end.

  • Beyond the straight gate is a narrow, lonely, and costly way. Few find the life that awaits them because they follow the crowd and don't want to pay the price.

The world will always pressure us to live sinfully and selfishly, but living the life God wants from you requires changing your thoughts.

Will you change your thoughts to God's thoughts and experience life?

Will you think as the world dictates and experience destruction?

Your mind is the gateway to your life experiences. Read Romans 12:2

  • Don't become so well-adjusted to the normalized deviation in today's culture that you fit into it without even thinking.

  • Fix your attention on God. He will change you from the inside out.

  • Readily recognize what he wants from you and quickly respond to it.

Choose the narrow gate and experience the abundant life Jesus came for you to live!
